Protect my next jobFAQ
How does the money work?
When you tap Protect this job, we text your customer a link to put a temporary hold on their card ($50 unless you change it). A hold isn’t a charge: the money stays in their account, and if you never use it the hold drops off their card by itself after 7 days. Job done? Tap Complete & charge, check the exact amounts on the screen, and confirm. The hold goes toward the bill and the rest is charged to the same card; if the bank declines the rest, your customer gets a pay link. Customer a no-show? One screen charges your no-show fee from the hold, or releases it. Every payment goes straight into your own Stripe account, in US or Canadian dollars depending on where you work. FlagHour never holds your money and takes no cut of job payments: Stripe keeps its standard card fee, and you pay us $19/month. When you collect a no-show or late-cancel fee, FlagHour keeps 10% of that fee. Stripe then sends your balance to your bank on your payout schedule, usually a couple of business days after each charge (a brand-new Stripe account often waits 7–14 days for its first payout). Refunds and disputes are handled in your Stripe dashboard, and FlagHour shows them on the job.
Is my customers’ card information safe?
Your customer types their card into Stripe’s secure form. The card number goes to Stripe — never to you and never to FlagHour. You see the card brand and last 4 digits, which is all you need to charge the bill.
What if a customer wants a refund?
You refund them from your Stripe dashboard, straight back to their card, and FlagHour shows it on the job. Customers get a plain page that explains holds, refunds and disputes.
Can I leave?
