How customers agree to texts
Last updated September 28, 2026
FlagHour is software for independent mobile auto mechanics. FlagHour sends each mechanic’s customers texts about their own appointment and payment. Customers consent to texts from FlagHour only; every text also names the mechanic’s business so they know which appointment it is about. Numbers are never shared with or texted by any other company. This page shows exactly how a customer agrees to those texts and how they stop them.
Live example of the booking page a customer receives: flaghour.com/p/hold/ricks-mobile-repair-demo-booking
1. The customer gives their number to the mechanic (verbal opt-in)
When a customer books a repair visit by phone or in person, the mechanic asks for their mobile number and says:
“Can I text you about this appointment at this number? You’ll get texts from FlagHour about this appointment: a confirmation with a card-hold link, reminders, on-my-way updates and your receipt. Msg & data rates may apply; reply STOP anytime to opt out.”
Only customers who agree and give their number are entered. When entering it, the mechanic sees this note in the app:
Mobile number
(555) 123-4567
The hold link and reminders are texted here. Only use a number the customer gave you for this visit.
2. The first text names the business and says how to opt out
3. The booking page repeats the consent before the customer continues
The page linked in that text shows this line directly above the card form and the Approve button:
By continuing you agree to receive texts from FlagHour about your appointment with Rick’s Mobile Repair. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.
Stopping texts and getting help
- Reply STOP (or CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE) to any text: that number gets no more texts from any business on FlagHour. Reply START to resume.
- Reply HELP for help, or contact help@flaghour.com.
- Message frequency varies, typically 3–8 messages per appointment. Message and data rates may apply. No marketing messages.
- Mobile numbers and consent are never shared with third parties for marketing. See the Privacy Policy and the SMS terms in the Terms.
